Wit: Helplessness of a Cancer Patient

I love films and plays.  Just tonight, I watched a really good film that I found out was made in 2001.  It was good not in a sense that it was an exciting and cheerful story, but it was one that gave an impressive depiction of how helpless a cancer patient could be.

The film Wit was adapted from a play which won the 1998 Pulitzer Prize.  Emma Thompson was outstanding.  The other roles might not have a heavy part in the film but they were important roles in the film/story which made this story so unforgettable.  The complexity of feelings and discussion of humanitarism were reflections of real life situations.

I was thinking how I could have missed this film.  In 2001, I guess I was busy finding my own way and changing jobs...
