I was in a restaurant today and noticed two guys coming in. One was Chinese and one was French. I've been trying hard to remember who the Chinese guy was as he looked very familiar. Finally I remembered, he was my classmate at L'Alliance Francaise. The funny thing was it helped me to remember him when he spoke.
He was never a guy who was very articulate. He showed that it took him quite some effort to make good sentences and he was still the same when I saw him in the restaurant. I tried to catch his attention but I think he might not remember me. I guessed that he was with a business partner or a client.
It reminded me of those days when I was learning French. It was good experience. I would have loved to continue with my exams this year but work was overwhelming and for personal reasons, I wanted a break. In any case, I was glad to see my classmate was working as hard as before, and he was lucky to be able to use the new skill in his work.
I wish him well.
